Create a Project
This guide explains how to create a project, set its type, and edit or archive it later. Creating a project needs edit rights on projects.
Create a project
- Go to Operate → Projects
- Select New project
- Fill in the dialog:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | The display name of the project |
| Description | What this project is meant to deliver |
| Project type | Integration for ongoing system-to-system delivery, or Migration for moving data out of a source. Integration is the default. See Project types |
- Select Create project
You land on the new project's detail view, ready to link connectors and start the work.
Write a good description
The Description isn't just a label — it's the starting context for Plan & implement, where the assistant designs the project's workflows. Be specific about what the project should deliver: the more detail here, the more it has to work from.
Migration adds two tabs
Choose Migration if you need to profile a source database and assess its quality — that's what unlocks the Data profile and Data quality tabs. An Integration project doesn't show them. You set the type at creation.
Edit a project
Open the project and use the Overview tab to change its Name, Description, and Project type, then select Update project in the project header to save.
Archive and restore
When a project's work is done, you can archive it to keep the list focused:
- Select Archive project in the project header. The project leaves the default list but is not deleted — it stays available under Show archived and can be brought back at any time.
- To restore one, turn on Show archived in the projects list, open the project, and select Restore project.
